About our Parish

St Joseph’s Parish is situated in Tweed Heads in the beautiful coastal area of the northernmost part of the State of New South Wales. We have access to wonderful beaches, the beautiful Tweed River valley, the magnificent hinterland, rural farmland and the support of a great infrastructure, connecting us to the Gold Coast and Brisbane.

Our parish is the gateway to the Diocese of Lismore, which covers the whole North Coast of N.S.W. The Bishop of Lismore is Bishop Geoffrey Jarrett, who assumed leadership of the Diocese on 1st December 2001. Go to our Diocese website.

The parish was established by Bishop John Carroll in 1912. More Parish history. The Parish serves Tweed Heads, Banora Point,  Bilambil, Bilambil Heights, Carool, Cobaki, Piggabeen, and Terranora.

St Joseph’s Church is situated one block from the border of N.S.W. and Queensland and the St Camillus’ Church is located in the picturesque Bilambil Valley, just 12 km from St Joseph’s Church. To locate our Churches.
